At\u00a0<strong>the end of July<\/strong>\u00a0it will be time for\u00a0<strong>Santa Maria<\/strong>pears and their particular and refreshing flavour.<\/p>\n<p>This type of pear has its roots in the Italian region of Emilia Romagna, where it was lucky to find the ideal habitat where it could grow and evolve until it became the fruit we know today.<\/p>\n<p>The Santa Maria is a favourite with everyone because it is just sweet enough and also has a fragrant note.<\/p>\n<p>It is perfect for making savoury dishes, like summertime\u00a0<em>vol-au-vant with stracchino cheese and pears<\/em>\u00a0for a light starter, or desserts like a\u00a0<em>cold pudding with diced pear topping<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s easy to find our Santa Maria pears.
